Kandilli’s 115 Years of Climate Data Reinterpreted at Hackathon

The "115 Years of Kandilli’s Climate Memory: Digitization and Analysis Hackathon" was organized by the Meteorology Laboratory of our Institute and hosted by the Department of Computer Engineering at Boğaziçi University on March 6–7, 2026.

Throughout the event, participants focused on analog meteorological charts recorded at the Kandilli Observatory since 1911. The projects developed during the hackathon aimed to digitize, analyze, and visualize these significant historical datasets, bridging the gap between historical records and modern data science.
